What Zodiac Sign is March 20? (Pisces or Aries?)

What zodiac sign is March 20?

If you or someone you know was born on this date, you may wonder what zodiac sign is on March 20.

For most astrologers, being born on March 20 makes you a Pisces. However, March 20 is a cusp date, landing right on the cutoff dates between Pisces and Aries. So, some astrologers might consider those born on March 20 to be Aries. But in most cases, March 20 just barely stays within the realm of Pisces.

Before we delve deeper into the zodiac sign for March 20th, I want to point out the Related Articles section at the end of this page.  I’ve collected a number of articles that “I feel” you will find interesting and beneficial.  Make sure you check these out.

Let’s discuss the cusp date of March 20, the last day of Pisces, and the first day of Aries.

What is a Cusp Date?

A cusp is an imaginary line drawn on the calendar that separates one zodiac sign from the next. If you are born a few days before or a few days after the cutoff date between signs, then you are born on a cusp date.

Your sun sign, which is the most widely-known sign, reveals your dominant personality traits and how you interact with the world around you. Your sun sign is determined by where the sun is positioned at the exact time of your birth.

When you are born on a cusp, you are born at a time when the sun is transitioning between two signs.

Those born on the cusp tend to have more complex personalities because they embody the personality traits and psychological characteristics of two signs.

When a person is born on a cusp, they usually identify most closely with the sign under which their birthdate falls. However, they won’t fit the description for that sign perfectly and will share many personality aspects of the nearest sign.

People born on a cusp can feel a lot of inner conflict and turmoil because they are pulled between the values and ideals of different signs.

You might think that two signs positioned next to each other on the zodiac would have a lot in common, but this is rarely the case.

When two signs are right next to each other, they may share some personality traits; but for the most part, they couldn’t be more different.

For example, consider the shy and emotional sign Cancer, positioned directly before ostentatious and boisterous Leo.

Their communication styles and methods of processing their emotions are entirely different.

They aren’t as different as their opposite signs, the signs positioned directly across from them on the zodiac wheel (Capricorn and Cancer are opposite signs, while Leo’s opposite is Aquarius), but they are still quite dissimilar.

When one person embodies the traits of two very different signs, it has both benefits and detriments.

On the one hand, someone born on the cusp may be more open-minded and able to get along with more people, since they could be compatible with signs that get along with the sign next to theirs.

On the other hand, cusp signs struggle with themselves a lot as they learn to navigate their conflicting viewpoints and contradictory personal traits, and they may not feel like they can connect as deeply with other people as they would like to.

Although technically a Pisces, a person born on March 20 is a Cusp sign and will share a lot of personality traits with an Aries.

This makes for perhaps the most interesting and complex cusp of the entire zodiac because Aries is the first or youngest sign and Pisces is the last or oldest.

The contrast between these two signs is even more dramatic than any other two consecutive signs, making those born on this date truly exceptional and unique individuals.

The Pisces Side

Born between February 19 and March 20, Pisces people are wise, emotional, creative, and intuitive. On the flip side, they can also be anxious, depressed, naive, and hedonistic.

Although they are on the cusp, a March 20 birthday technically belongs to Pisces, so typically the Pisces personality traits will be the strongest or most obvious.

Although you will have more Pisces tendencies, if you were born on March 20 you will also portray some Aries characteristics.

Aries and Pisces are two very different signs, even more so than other consecutive signs because of their placement in the zodiac.

As the last or “oldest” sign, Pisces people are old souls. They have deep, expressive eyes that show the long experience of their spirits.

Those born under the sign of Pisces are dreamy and romantic. When they are in a committed relationship, they give their all to their significant others.

They want a fairytale romance that fulfills all of their childhood dreams. They will settle for nothing less than an extraordinary relationship that fulfills them in every way.

Unfortunately, a Pisces in love is easily blinded to the faults of their loved ones. They will overlook red flags and signs that the relationship is doomed to fail.

A Pisces wants eternal love so badly that they will let their lover walk all over them. Their discontent, even if they don’t recognize it consciously, will quietly build and build until they can’t take it anymore and explode.

It takes a lot to anger a Pisces, but when they get mad, they get really, really mad. Try not to push a Pisces over the edge because you will bring out a side of them you have never seen before and you won’t like it.

Although firm in their convictions, Pisces is quite open-minded. They are empathetic and excellent listeners, and with a strong enough argument, their opinions can be swayed.

This makes Pisces susceptible to manipulation, another trait that tends to make them unlucky in love if they choose the wrong partners who will take advantage of them.

Each sign of the zodiac correlates to one of the four natural elements: earth, fire, air, or water. There are three signs of the zodiac for each element, and the element reveals a lot about that sign’s typical personality traits, principles, and ideals.

Because of their shared values, every sign is most compatible with its own element. Pisces is a water sign and gets along best with other Pisces and fellow water signs Cancer and Scorpio.

Water signs are highly emotional, and Pisces is no exception to this rule. They aren’t afraid to show their feelings or to help other people analyze their emotions, so becoming an artist or a psychiatrist would be an excellent career choice for a Pisces.

Other good career options for those born under this water sign are nurses or doctors. Pisces are natural caretakers and they have a strong desire to help people. Working in the medical field will fulfill Pisces’ need to tend to others.

If you were born on March 20, you may connect closely with the typical characteristics of a Pisces. If not, then perhaps your cusp personality aligns more with your Aries side.

The Aries Side

Born between March 21 and April 19, Aries is a passionate, clever, honest, and independent sign. On the other hand, they can also be selfish, bossy, blunt, and competitive.

Aries is the first or “youngest” sign of the zodiac, so they look at the world with eager and inexperienced eyes. They are untainted by the ways of the world, yet they have much to learn.

Those born under the sign of Aries are brave and self-sufficient. They don’t need a romantic relationship to be happy, but when they commit to someone, they strive to be the best partner they can be.

Because of their egocentric nature, Aries want a partner who will put them first. After all, what can you expect from the newborn of the zodiac?

Unfortunately, Aries are so demanding and temperamental that they can push their partners away easily. An Aries needs someone who can be endlessly patient with them or at least understands their domineering personality.

Unlike Pisces, who is slow to anger, Aries is a hothead and gets mad quickly. They get over their anger just as quickly as it comes, so one minute they may be shouting with rage and the next they are calm and happy.

Fortunately, this means that Aries won’t let their anger build up over time because they are not capable of it. Their frustration comes out in short bursts, much like a temper tantrum, and then blows over quickly.

Aries is honest to a fault. You will never have to be concerned about Aries lying to you, but you might have to worry about their bluntness. An Aries doesn’t know how to sugarcoat their words and can come off as rude when they are brutally honest.

They also expect others to be just as honest and upfront, making them susceptible to deceit and betrayal. Their loyalty often makes them fall prey to those who will take advantage of their trusting nature in love.

Unlike the water sign Pisces, Aries is a fire sign. It is the “youngest” of all fire signs, meaning they can have a hard time directing the heat of their flame.

Every sign is most compatible with its own element because of its shared belief systems. As a fire sign, Aries gets along best with other Aries and fellow fire signs Leo and Sagittarius.

Fire signs are passionate and forceful, and Aries exemplifies these traits perfectly. They need an outlet for their endless amounts of energy and desire for competition, so a career as an athlete or a coach would be a great fit for them.

Because of their quick thinking skills and their physicality, other good career options for those born under this fire sign are firemen, police officers, or first aid responders. Aries have excellent reflexes and work well under pressure.

Have you ever wanted the sound of the ocean splashing in the background as you work at your desk, or cook dinner in the kitchen?

The White Noise Maker is something I use every day. It has 6 sound options including Thunder, the sound of the Ocean, a summer night, rain, and white noise.

I love the sound of rain playing in the background, or the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the sand. Sometimes I use it when I go to bed, or even in my office with my Asakuki Diffuser giving off the gentle scent of lavender in the air.

It`s also nice having the Himalayan salt Lamp on in the background with my Crystal Tree of Life next to it. I have them in my office and they create a “zen” feel for me while I’m working.
