You can use astrology to help you make important decisions in life, such as choosing a romantic partner, where you should live, and what kind of jobs or career to pursue.

To choose rewarding jobs or a career based on astrology, you should look at the tenth house of your birth chart. The planet in your tenth house will help you decide what you should do to make a living.

Before we delve into choosing a career using Astrology, I wanted to point out the Related Articles section at the bottom of this page.  I’ve collected a number of articles that I know you will love.  Make sure you check them out!

The Tenth House

The zodiac wheel is divided into twelve “houses” that govern different aspects of your life. For example, the first house is connected to the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, and the planet Mars. The first house governs the self, appearances, and first impressions.

The tenth house of the zodiac relates to your career, professional life, reputation, and public appearance. The planet in your tenth house is the strongest indicator of what sort of profession you should pursue.

The tenth house is associated with the zodiac sign Capricorn and its ruling planet Saturn but that doesn’t mean that you will have Saturn in your tenth house on your birth chart. It could be any of the heavenly bodies, and it is determined by the exact date, time, and location of your birth.

Before we talk about the houses, you should look at your chart so that you can see what applies to you.  I have this great little tool that creates your birth chart.  Fill in your name and the date, location, and time of your birth then you can see what planets were in the tenth house.

What Your Planet in the Tenth House Means

Moon

The Moon in your tenth house means you have a focus on home, family, and the feminine. You genuinely care about other people and are a natural cultivator.

You could be a wonderful homemaker, interior decorator, elementary school teacher, or chef. Those with the Moon in their tenth house are very persuasive, so they make excellent salespeople or business negotiators.

They are also highly protective, so working in security is also a good choice.

Sun

Having the Sun in your tenth house is very auspicious for your career. You will likely hold a leadership position and have a great deal of power in your profession.

Having the Sun in your tenth house means you crave an enviable job and recognition from your peers. Working in politics or as any sort of manager is excellent choices for those with the Sun in their tenth house.

If the Sun is in your tenth house, you need to avoid scandal or public humiliation, which could be your professional downfall.

Mercury

If you have Mercury in your tenth house, you have a strong work ethic and take pride in doing your job to the best of your abilities. Mercury is the planet of communication, information, and technology.

If you have Mercury in your tenth house, then you probably have great communication and interpersonal skills. You are a skilled and confident public speaker, and you know how to articulate your thoughts and ideas well in the workplace.

This could make for a successful career in public relations or marketing. If your talents lean more towards the technology side, you could be a computer programmer or website developer.

With Mercury in the tenth house, you love to learn, so don’t be afraid to take on a job that requires a lot of education and special training.

Venus

Venus is the planet of love and beauty. If you have Venus in your tenth house, it means your career will likely revolve around aesthetics or relationships.

You could be a realtor, a designer, or an artist. A job in fashion, modeling, or public speaking is also wonderful option for you.

You will be successful in any field that allows you to explore your interests in people and visuals.

Mars

Having Mars in your tenth house means you need a job with a physical component. Mars is the planet of war, aggression, and assertion.

If you have Mars in your tenth house, you need a competitive job that allows you to release physical tension. Your ideal job also has a great deal of room for growth so that you are always competing with yourself or others to get to the top.

You have strong leadership potential, but your interpersonal skills may be lacking.

A career as an athlete, a physical trainer, or a racecar driver is the perfect option for a person with Mars in their tenth house.

Jupiter

Jupiter is the sign of luck, wealth, travel, and higher education. If you have Jupiter in your tenth house, then money and work come to you effortlessly.

You can expect to succeed in nearly any career you set your mind to, but you will be happiest in jobs that involve travel and education. Being a teacher, a traveling salesman or any job with a big salary are good choices for you if you have Jupiter in your tenth house.

Don’t rely too much on luck and good fortune in your professional life, though. Although you are blessed with professional and financial abundance, you still need to work hard to earn what you want.

Saturn

Saturn is the planet that rules over Capricorn and the tenth house itself. If you have Saturn in your tenth house, it means you have an excellent work ethic and give your all to any job you do.

You crave a high-status job and recognition for all your efforts. You enjoy putting in a hard day’s work so much that those with Saturn in their tenth house are likely to be workaholics.

Whatever career path you choose, make sure to balance your work and personal life, and carve out time for yourself. Saturn is the planet of karma, work, determination, and ambition.

If you have Saturn in your tenth house, you must be careful to choose a career that is meaningful and contributes to society, not just a job that brings home the biggest paycheck.

Although the innate ambition Saturn in your tenth house gives you makes you monetarily driven, if you step on others to get ahead or choose a selfish job, the karma aspect of Saturn will come back to haunt you later in life.

Jobs like doctors or lawyers are perfect choices for people with Saturn in the tenth house because it not only fulfills their need for status and financial success but also give back to the rest of society.

Uranus

Uranus is perhaps the quirkiest and most eccentric of all the planets. It represents innovation and self-expression.

People with Uranus in their tenth house need a career that allows them to be themselves, so corporate positions with a lot of supervision aren’t a good fit for them.

They may have problems with authority and prefer to be their own boss. They also dislike wearing a uniform or having to follow a strict dress code. If you have Uranus in your tenth house, you are likely skilled with technology or are some type of artist.

Careers as an inventor, an engineer, or in the visual or performing arts are perfect choices for someone with this unique planet in the tenth house. They could also thrive by opening their own business that caters to an esoteric community.

Pluto

Pluto may be the smallest planet (it’s even smaller than Earth’s moon!), but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in potency.

Pluto is the planet of power, transformation, death, and rebirth. If you have Pluto in your tenth house, you need to have power and a sense of control at your job to be happy.

You will likely go through a few career changes in your life before settling on the perfect fit for you.

With Pluto in your tenth house, you need a job that offers you autonomy or management over others. You also need an honest job that doesn’t waste time with political correctness and pleasantries.

Jobs like detective or manager suit your professional personality, while jobs like doctor or lawyer feed your craving for power and prestige.

Summary

Although astrology can help you figure out what career path you might be best suited for, there are many different astrological influences that affect your professional aptitude.

You need to read your unique birth chart as a whole to get the best sense of what job is right for you.

If you want to know the fastest way to predict your career path accurately, check which planet is in your tenth house.

The meaning of the planet in your house of career and long-term goals is a strong indicator of what job will come easily to you and fulfill you.
