Cancer Mythology

Cancer came from the tale of the giant crab sent by Hera to slaughter Heracles, one of Zeus’ illegitimate children. As Heracles was battling the Hydra, the crab cinched on his foot. Heracles turned his attention to the crab and smashed it.

Hera sent the crab to the heavens to become the constellation of Cancer as a tribute to the fallen creature. Cancer is known to be the 31st biggest constellation in the sky.
